They don’t know when they will be called home

They know when they arrived though

They don’t know where they are going

Some think they do

But do they ever know?

The wind needs no wheels, no engines

It plants kisses on whomever it chooses

It is patient and gentle when it wants

It rushes with forceful violence from here to there

It has not a load of care

It can be wherever, whenever, however

Deep down, that is all they want

They all want to be wind

So they claw and dig and tunnel

They love and they hate

They save and they kill

They test the limits of their existence

Fighting wars and desiring peace

Fearing what they don’t understand

Judging what is unlike them to be unworthy of their love

Brown and Green. Leaves.

Mud and Brick. Walls.

It never crosses their minds to think of themselves as rivals

They only know they exist to satisfy  a purpose

So they co-exist and live their lives side-by-side

The green never mocks the brown

It knows it will be brown too someday

The brick never sneers at the mud

After all the mud inspired his existence

So he is thankful for his beginnings

They don’t want to be like them though

They are too content

Too at peace

Too good to be true

They want the dream of a blur mirage

It is the only reality they have come to know

It is what makes them human

They just want to be wind

They are people

i met the Priest...i realised that though society seems to respect the baker and despise the shepherd, the baker is not happy despite his stability and the shepherd is free to pursue the pyramids, because he is a dreamer; and one day he will meet Fatima. I am the boy; the shepherd.
