Grey Rain

M’ante asɛm pa
Y’ante asɛm pa
Asɛm yi yɛ asefem
Asɛm yi yɛ ahomete

Breathless shadows creep in the dusk
Fading rainbows smear the clouds
The grim reaper stares from his silent mask
As my wailing heart is clad in shrouds

To whom can I sing my pain?
Ɔdehyeɛ bi aka nkyene agu
I am drenched in grey rain
Ɔdadeɛ w’ama y’akoma atu

May our tears dry on the shores of hope
Knowing that yours was a soul preciously saved
You did live Christ so we know you have gained
You have not abandoned us you have been called
You have not been cast down you have been lifted up
When we look up to the heavens we will smile
For we know you are smiling too

Like a play life is
The length matters not
Only the quality of the acting
Like mist we all are
Here now gone tomorrow
Death has stung but it has no victory

You have departed too soon but not too far
We are cut deep but we fight harder
You are away but you’re home
We are shaken but we salute you
This is see you later not goodbye

Memeneda Kaakyire kosɛ
Opoku dehyeɛ due
Ɔdadeɛ Agyemang nante yie

Sail across the river of no return in peace
Sleep well in the land of the silent

i met the Priest...i realised that though society seems to respect the baker and despise the shepherd, the baker is not happy despite his stability and the shepherd is free to pursue the pyramids, because he is a dreamer; and one day he will meet Fatima. I am the boy; the shepherd.
